VESI Worker Training - Initial

Description

The VESI Worker Training - Initial program includes VESI Units that are required to gain authorisation to work on the VESI Distribution Networks in common VESI Roles. The program is structured across multiple days with logical grouping of Units on each day. Participants can enrol in only those days that are required to meet their needs, ie they don’t have to enrol in all days.

The program is usually run as public courses at our training centres with participants from multiple organisations attending. It can also be delivered as a customised, private course for single organisations, at our training centres, or at their sites.

Upon completion of this course, you will receive a Statement of Attainment or Certificate of Completion in the following units, depending on selections:

Day 1

  • HLTAID011 Provide First Aid
  • HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
  • UETDRMP010 Provide First Aid in an ESI environment

Day 2

  • VESI Environmental Framework
  • VESI Safety Framework
  • Manual Handling

Day 3 (offered occasionally)

  • VEDN Installation of Underground Electrical Infrastructure

Day 4

  • Enter Enclosures
  • UETDRMP002 ESI Safety Rules for Work on, Near or in the Vicinity of Electrical Apparatus
  • Safe Approach Distances

Day 5 (offered occasionally)

  • VEDN Asset Auditor

Course aim

The VESI Worker Training - Initial program has been structured to offer training in VESI Units that are required by common VESI Roles to gain authorisation to work on the VESI Distribution Networks, as defined in the VESI Skills and Training Matrix. Note that Distribution Network Operators may determine further competency assessment / refresher training, authorisations, and induction requirements for specific roles.

The target learners for this course are people currently looking to gain authorisation to work in specific VESI roles on the VESI Distribution Network.

Equipment & PPE

Learners are required to have the following to participate in this course:

  • Personal Protective Equipment (e.g. Hard Hat, Safety Footwear, Approved Hi-Vis Clothing, Safety Glasses) - No special tools or equipment required;

Learners are required to have the following to participate in this course:

  • Stationary (e.g. Pen, Pencil, etc.)

Assessment approach

Learners will be assessed using a combination of the following methods:

  • Theory/Written Assessment (e.g. Short Answer Questions, Multiple Choice, Verbal Questioning Interview)
  • Direct Observation/Practical Assessment (e.g. Workplace, Simulated Environment, Role Play/Scenario)

Course Entry Requirements

To participate in this course, learners are required to:

  • be literate in spoken English and competent in reading, writing, and numeracy.
  • be sufficiently fit to participate.

Accreditation Status

Nationally recognised training.Upon successful completion, learners will receive Statements of Attainment or Certificates of Completion, depending on selections.
