Switching Fundamentals - Adaptive

Description

The purpose of this module is for the learner to understand the primary functions of switching in power systems. Please note, this is a non-accredited course and upon successful completion, learners will receive a Certificate of Completion - Switching Fundamentals.

In this course, participants will develop the skills and knowledge as stipulated in the following:

  • Explain the when and why switching is required
  • Identify different types of switching
  • Explain how to use drawings and diagrams to switch safely
  • Identify different roles and responsibilities in high voltage switching
  • Explain the concept and switching programs and associated processes
  • List considerations for switching
  • Identify unique switching situations and challenges
  • List the attributes of a good operator

Target learner group

Controllers, planners, project supervisors, operators and technicians involved in switching operations in the electrical industry.
