Fall trees manually (Advanced)

Description

The aim of this course is to develop the advanced skills and knowledge required to safely and efficiently fell complex and high‑risk trees using manual techniques. Building on intermediate‑level competencies, this unit prepares learners to assess challenging tree characteristics, plan and execute advanced felling operations, and apply specialised cutting methods to maintain control in demanding conditions.

The course emphasises hazard identification, risk mitigation, and sound decision‑making when dealing with trees that present significant structural, environmental, or situational complexities. Learners will work to industry standards, follow WHS/OHS and environmental requirements, and operate confidently in forestry, land management, and vegetation‑control environments where advanced manual felling is required.
