Civil Worker Training Program

Description

The Civil Worker program has been structured to deliver all the VESI training requirements to enable a Civil Worker to gain authorisation to work on the VESI Distribution Networks. This program is usually run at our training centre with a mixed group of participants attending, however this can be conducted at your location and tailored to suit your participants.

Upon completion of this course, you will receive a Statement of Attainment and Certificate of Completion for the following units:

  • HLTAID011 Provide First Aid
  • HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation
  • UETDRMP010 Provide first aid in an ESI environment
  • VESI Environmental Framework
  • VESI Safety Framework
  • Manual Handling
  • VEDN Installation of Underground Electrical Infrastructure
  • Enter Enclosures
  • UETDRMP002 ESI safety rules for work on, near or in the vicinity of electrical apparatus
  • Safe Approach Distances

Course aim

The target learners for this course are civil workers currently look to gain authorisation wo work on the VESI distribution network.

Equipment & PPE

Learners are required to have the following to participate in this course:

  • Personal Protective Equipment (e.g. Hard Hat, Safety Footwear, Approved Hi-Vis Clothing, Safety Glasses) - No special tools or equipment required;

Learners are required to have the following to participate in this course:

  • Stationary (e.g. Pen, Pencil, etc.)

Assessment approach

Learners will be assessed using a combination of the following methods:

  • Theory/Written Assessment (e.g. Short Answer Questions, Multiple Choice, Verbal Questioning Interview)
  • Direct Observation/Practical Assessment (e.g. Workplace, Simulated Environment, Role Play/Scenario)

Course Entry Requirements

To participate in this course, learners are required to:

  • be literate in spoken English and competent in reading, writing, and numeracy.
  • be sufficiently fit to participate.

Accreditation Status

Nationally recognised training.
Upon successful completion, learners will receive a statement of attainment.
