Cable Jointing
Power Cable Systems
The rising volume of high voltage underground power cables brings about technical challenges to network and site developers, operators, and maintenance technicians. Our deliver a range of training from short courses to full qualifications.

For engineers and project managers
The rise in cable system faults is costly for owners, developers and operators of high voltage networks in generation (wind, solar and thermal), sub-transmission, distribution and rail networks or large scale industry and utilities.
RelyOn Australia has collaborated with global power cable solutions provider, NKT to create the Cable Jointing and Installation Practices one day program. Tailored to engineers and project managers, this course increases the level of awareness of what conditions and workmanship is necessary to ensure quality and longevity of underground cable systems.
This course will explore the basics of UG cable systems, the components of cable jointing Kits, electrical stress caused by MV conductors and why/how it is controlled, cable sheath bonding methods, cable failure causes and consequences, cable jointing preparation and workmanship, cable testing and documentation.
The Course has been developed by Subject Matter Experts from RelyOn Australia and global cable solutions provider, NKT. It draws on practical infrastructure project experience across the world.

License to operate Basic & Advanced Boiler and Steam Turbine - training & assessment services

Background to High Risk Work licenses
Pressure equipment operation is classed as High Risk Work (HRW). A license to perform HRW is part of a national system which authorises individuals to carry out particular classes of work including boiler and turbine operation. The HRW licence has been incorporated into each State’s law via their respective WHS Regulations.
To obtain a HRW licence, a person must be trained in accordance with the applicable Unit of Competency by an RTO and then be assessed as competent against the applicable national assessment instrument (NAI) by an Assessor who is accredited by the Work Health and Safety regulator under the WHS Regulations.
Boiler and Turbine training & assessment
RelyOn Australia offers training and assessment for the following Units of Competency:
MSMBLIC001 License to operate a standard boilerMSMBLIC002 License to operate an advanced boilerUEPOPL004 License to operate a steam turbine
Our Training programs are designed to ensure that participants have the skills and knowledge required to operate your equipment at your organisation. Operation includes start up, handover, monitoring, shut down and storage.
Assessment is carried out through formal classroom assessment and the accumulation of practical experience via a log book and training plan.
At the completion of the theory and practical components of the Unit of Competency, our HRL Assessor will:

review Candidate’s evidence they have recorded to demonstrate they have the required knowledge and experience to satisfy the requirements of the Unit; and
undertake an assessment of the Candidate, in accordance with the National HRL assessment guideline and the Unit of Competency.

RelyOn is authorised to undertake National High Risk Work Licences with WorkSafe Victoria, SafeWork NSW and SafeWork SA for the work licenses below:

MSMBLIC001 License to operate a standard boiler
MSMBLIC002 License to operate an advanced boiler
UEPOPL004 License to operate a steam turbine
