The PLC System Engineering – Fundamentals course provides a skillset to troubleshoot / setup a tcp/ip ethernet network for PLC’s connected to a lan/wan with wifi and present methods of incorporating real time clock functions, counters and converting ladder into function blocks. Other topics covered and discussed include i/o, adc & dac, comparators, counters, p&id functionality, ip addresses, sub-nets and modbus communication.
The PLC Systems Engineering – Fundamentals course provides a pathway for theoretical and practical skills and knowledge to be able to select, install, commission, fault find and maintain equipment and systems for the control of plant, machines and processes utilising PLC and Networks.
-
On completion, the students will understand basic networks, tcp/ip addressing and subnet/masks, wi-fi setup, plc setup, programming basics for plc, ladder and function block creation.
