This refresher course provides participants who already hold the HVSO units to keep with up-to-date information on legislation and a review of important safety and procedural details relating to high voltage switching operations. Attending regular refresher training helps to meet industry best practice standards, and in WA, this will also ensure compliance with the Guidelines for the safe management of high voltage installations.
This refresher course provides a review of the following topics:
- Legislation and standards
- Electrical hazards, risk management and safety procedures
- Writing and checking switching programs
- Permit procedures
This course involves practical switching activities to a switching program, which includes:
- Remote switching operations using our customised interactive network diagrams
- Manual switching activities in our high voltage switching training facilities
Units
- UEPOPS124 Perform switching to a switching program
- UEPOPS021 Control permit to work operations
